SEA: about 100 Km of coast, including the Area Marina Protetta (Reserved Marine Area - AMP) of Capo Rizzuto. The AMP is a piece of the Mediterranean Sea included between Isola di Capo Rizzuto and Crotone territory. With its crystalline water and thin sandy, it offers to visitors a trip in history, legend and archaeology and an itinerary in a very notable naturalistic patrimony. Possible activities to do: underwater excursions, snorkelling, “Pescaturismo” (fishing), excursion by transparent keel boat. |

MOUNTAIN: The Crotonian Sila, included in the National Park of Calabria, rich in woods and clear brooks which go down till valley, is easily reachable from all the centres present in the province. On the Sila highland, an important ski resort is present, Villaggio Palumbo, (1400 mts on the sea level), in the territory of Cotronei, one of the most appreciated ski-place in the South of Italy for its ski sloples and ski lift, summer ski slopes with synthetic grass floor, bob slopes and Ice-Palace. The Sila is not only snow, but on summer it represents an ideal place for who loves excursions, trekking, horse riding, folklore and cultural events. |

HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY: A territory where each corner is rich in witnesses of a very ancient roots past. The most interesting archaeological site is Capo Colonna, with its ancient column of the Temple of Hera Lacinia, still visible (it dates back to 470-460 b. C.). The tracks of local history are visible in the multitude of castles and fortresses located in the territory. Some of these are: the ancient Aragonese Castle of Le Castella, the Castle of Santa Severina, the Castle of Carlo V in Crotone, the Castle Carracco in Caccuri, the Castellated Tower in Melissa all open to visitors and locations for events and public manifestations. |

CULTURE: the culture, which has animated over the centuries the territory of Crotone, is still an highlight today for tourists and visitors. Some cultural events represent international meetings. Concerts, theatre and shows animate the centre in the most suggestive places. The Maggio Pitagorico, the Concerto dell’Aurora, are just some of the events that in the years aroused interest in a lot of people. |
